Le GABA 500 mg est désormais classé comme neurotransmetteur inhibiteur car il réduit la tension nerveuse (diminue le potentiel d'action des neurones), ayant ainsi un effet anxiolytique, tranquillisant et sédatif comme celui des barbituriques et des benzodiazépines connus.
